What It Means
A Basket Order lets you place multiple orders across different stocks or contracts together as one group, instead of entering each one individually.
How It Works
It's built for trades where several legs need to go in around the same time — a multi-stock portfolio rebalance, an index-replicating set of buys, or a multi-leg options strategy. Each leg is still sent to the exchange as its own separate order; the basket just bundles the entry process, not the execution itself.
Warning
A basket doesn't guarantee every leg fills at the exact same instant or price — treat each leg as independently exposed to slippage and partial fills, especially in a multi-leg options strategy.
