What It Means
A Disclosed Quantity Order lets you reveal only part of a large order to the market at a time, while the rest stays hidden and releases automatically in the same-size chunks as each visible piece fills.
How It Works
NSE and BSE require the disclosed portion to be at least 10% of your total order quantity for equity, currency, and commodity trades on those exchanges (25% on MCX) — you can't hide more than 90% of the order at once. This isn't available for F&O orders.
Example
Placing an order for 10,000 shares, you can disclose as little as 1,000 at a time. Once that lot fills, the next 1,000 becomes visible, and so on until the full order is done.
Warning
Setting a disclosed quantity below the exchange's minimum gets the order rejected outright — check the minimum for your segment before placing it.
