What It Means
A GTT (Good Till Triggered) order stays active until a price condition you set is met, without needing to be placed fresh every trading day. It's built for setting a target or stop-loss days or weeks in advance and walking away.
How It Works
A regular order — even a stop-loss — is typically valid only for that trading session unless you resubmit it the next day. A GTT order, by contrast, sits with your broker (not the exchange directly) and continuously monitors the price; when your trigger condition is hit, it automatically converts into a real market or limit order. Most Indian brokers cap how long a GTT can stay pending — commonly around a year — and let you set two-leg GTTs (a target and a stop-loss together, where one cancels the other once triggered).
